Freedom Writers

Just heard from a friend about this movie called “Freedom Writers“. I then went on to watch the trailer… wow… I mean, first of all it’s a true story. Second… you just gotta watch it!

It’s about gang fights and racial tensions. This teacher was committed to place herself in it to make a difference. It’s easy to say, but you will get a much better idea the kind of life-or-death risk she placed herself in.

And yes, I just bought the DVD. ;)

Saving Sarah Cain

This movie “Saving Sarah Cain” is good! I don’t want to give the story away. So briefly this story is about this columnist Sarah who became the guardian of a few Amish children. These children moved to Sarah’s apartment. And as you know, that’s completely two different worlds! Things happen and toward the end Sarah realized something… and that’s what the story wants to tell its readers… wowoowowow~~~ Must watch!

This movie is based on the novel “The Redemption of Sarah Cain.”

fast food nutrition facts

super size me

I just watched the dvd “super size me“. I bought this long time ago but just never had time to watch it until today. The film maker Morgan Spurlock experimented on himself eating McDonald’s meals three times a day for 30 days straight. What a brave man! I mean, besides getting addicted to the fast food, and gaining 10% of his original body weight, he doubled the risk of getting heart attack, diabetes, and all kinds of health related issues. Oh, and he actually threw up in front of the camera one time.

I found this nutrition facts website called FastFoodNutrition.org. Hopefully you can spend a minute or two to just check out how much one single fast food meal contributes to your daily nutrition intake. Remember if you are not on diet, your normal calories intake is about 2000 units.

For you iphone users out there, this website lists the top 10 health related iphone apps. Hope you find some of them useful!

Slumdog Millionaire

A few days ago one of my friends asked me to go watch “Slumdog Millionaire”. I saw some of the movie reviews saying it was a hype and all that, but I was like, ok, whatever, and went ahead to watch it. It turned out to be quite impressive to say the least. I was caught off-guard by the real life stuff in the movie. I don’t want to give away the storyline here. If you are like me, sick of all the usual princess-romance or explosion-violence movies, this is the one movie you got to watch!
